Undercover Boss!

We play the home version of Undercover Boss, only I know exactly who the boss is, changes are made without my input and I never get $10,000 for being enthusiastic.

I love Undercover Boss. In case you are not familiar with the show, the president of a large company, like Popeyes Chicken, will put on a ridiculous disguise, designed to fool the employees. To solidify the ruse, a camera crew comes along, with a host who tells the employees that they are part of a reality show and they need to work with this person and then give their feedback at the end of the show.

<a href="https://jerrymabbott.files.wordpress.com/2014/05/wpid-2014-05-07-08-33-27.png"><img title="2014-05-07 08.33.27.png" class="alignnone size-full" alt="image" src="https://jerrymabbott.files.wordpress.com/2014/05/wpid-2014-05-07-08-33-27.png" /></a>

Suddenly, who appears to ask them the questions? Voila! Its the boss! It's a great show, if you're a good employee. You get all kinds of gifts, cash, vacations, scholarships and even promotions. In two episodes, the boss has given someone a free franchise, worth $250,000!

<a href="https://jerrymabbott.files.wordpress.com/2014/05/wpid-2014-05-07-08-32-24.png"><img title="2014-05-07 08.32.24.png" class="alignnone size-full" alt="image" src="https://jerrymabbott.files.wordpress.com/2014/05/wpid-2014-05-07-08-32-24.png" /></a>

I have a few issues with the show. On an episode featuring KOA campgrounds, a belligerent female was fired when she met with the boss - on national television! I'm certain that helped her win others over in her next interviews. "Wait a minute, didn't I see you get fired on TV"? Her best hope is to become her own boss, selling crack. You don't have to be nice to sell crack.

<a href="https://jerrymabbott.files.wordpress.com/2014/05/wpid-2014-05-07-08-30-53.png"><img title="2014-05-07 08.30.53.png" class="alignnone size-full" alt="image" src="https://jerrymabbott.files.wordpress.com/2014/05/wpid-2014-05-07-08-30-53.png" /></a>

Secondly, if I were an employee of one of those featured companies, when I watched the show and saw four employees being showered with such incredible generosity, I might be just a tad bitter that it wasn't me. Did I say "a tad"? I would go ballistic! How is that fair? I've been working my tail off for decades for this outfit, and I get squat?!?  It might be just enough to push a borderline phsyco employee over the edge. They'll get their $10,000, but it might be illegal.

<a href="https://jerrymabbott.files.wordpress.com/2014/05/wpid-2014-05-07-08-28-51.png"><img title="2014-05-07 08.28.51.png" class="alignnone size-full" alt="image" src="https://jerrymabbott.files.wordpress.com/2014/05/wpid-2014-05-07-08-28-51.png" /></a>

Lastly, the show has been on television for several years now. The "host" of the supposed reality show is always the same lady, and the disguises are ridiculous. If any employee is actually fooled by this scenario now, they should be terminated immediately for being an idiot. They are clearly out of touch with reality.

<a href="https://jerrymabbott.files.wordpress.com/2014/05/wpid-2014-05-07-08-38-57.png"><img title="2014-05-07 08.38.57.png" class="alignnone size-full" alt="image" src="https://jerrymabbott.files.wordpress.com/2014/05/wpid-2014-05-07-08-38-57.png" /></a>

How about Undercover Mob Boss? Now that would be a better show. People wouldn't get money, scholarships and cars, they would get whacked.

See you tomorrow.
