The term, "Government Shutdown", is one of the best oxymorons I've ever heard. Our government is always on shutdown, thanks to Congress, this is simply a monetary problem.
For the politicians who supposedly represent our best interests, they pay no attention to what people want, they simply play politics. Show each other who has the most power. Meanwhile, hundreds of thousands of government employees are sitting on pins and needles, waiting to find out if they will be able to go to work on Tuesday.
Each side blames the other, of course, but I blame them all. They should be ashamed of themselves - and fired - for playing Russian Roulette with the day to day working people in our government. Why are they protected? I know they are salaried employees, so their paychecks won't be impacted, so constituents who take the time to find out how their supposed representative voted, they (we) should act accordingly.
If I discover that my representative voted for a delay, and thereby being party to stopping payments to government employees, I will begin an impeachment petition against him. We have representatives who publicly denounce other members of Congress for being responsible for the delay, then silently vote for the delay.
I get the fact that these selfish, blowhard politicians, on both sides, like to tag bills with items they want passed, ergo the problem. When it comes to our citizens livelihood, a bill should have nothing else attached, period. We have a military base and IRS offices here, along with other Federal Government agencies, who's hourly employees have already taken a 20% decrease due to sequestration. Now they want to stop their pay altogether?
It should be criminal. Seriously. The idiot, Cruz, who spoke against Obamacare for 21 hours, did absolutely nothing to help solve the problem. I'm not a proponent of the program, and the country is split on the issue, so it should be handled separately.
I should run for office. If it weren't for the fact that I've never had an affair, I think I'd have a pretty good shot.
See you tomorrow.
