I don't like carving pumpkins. I'm just not good at it. Last year, I cut a hole in the wrong place, so I had to fix it with a pumpkin patch.
Tis the season for all things pumpkin. It's almost like listening to Bubba, from "Forest Gump" talk about shrimp. Let's see, pumpkin cookies, pumpkin bread, pumpkin spice cake, pumpkin coffee, pumpkin rolls, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin soup, pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin candles, pumpkin cheesecake, pumpkin seeds and of course, pumpkin pie.
Did I miss anything? I know some people don't like pumpkin anything. They simply hate it. I love it all! I'm a pumpkin junkie, which is one of the reasons I love the fall season, and the pumpkin craze lasts for four months, minimum. I don't know who started the craze, but I'm sure glad they chose pumpkin as the main ingredient.
I love to go to Starbucks and get a pumpkin spice latte with everything, and a pumpkin - cream cheese muffin. Heavenly. My wife makes her own pumpkin chocolate cookies, bread and pumpkin cream cheese roll.
I really have to eat this stuff in moderation, or I would ruin all of the benefits from working out. I almost forgot! M&Ms now have pumpkin flavor. Only Target Stores have them, and when we went to get them, they were sold out.
Imagine if something else had been chosen, like rutabagas. First off, they would be very hard to carve and I can't imagine rutabaga cookies, coffee, cake, lattes, muffins, etc. I think if that were the case, I would hate the season. Spring would become my favorite because of the cookouts. I love me a good, home grilled steak or burger. Depending on where you live, you might be able to do that year round anyway.
The other great thing about fall is sports. The baseball post season is upon us, along with football and our favorite TV shows are back. I'm bummed this year however, because Ziva David is leaving NCIS. Even though a replacement has been announced, it will be tough to fill Ziva's role. We'll see.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to make my own pumpkin spice coffee.
See you tomorrow.
