Stay put! Part 2

I've moved so many times on my own, the post office sends me change of address forms weekly, just in case.

Let's begin with my family. I was born in Missoula, Montana. We didn't live there long. Prior to my birth, my family lived in numerous places and different states. We settled in Butte, Montana, where I spent most of my first seven years of my life.

It was fun there. We had great neighbors, and there was a candy store down on the corner that sold candy really cheap. The kind of store you don't see anymore.

Suddenly, my father decided to move us to Southern California. I know! He went first, to get things settled for us. My mother had just given birth to my younger brother and we took a train to California.

My father bought a house in Baldwin Park, who's only claim to fame was the first "In N Out" burger joint. Oh, and gangs. It was a horrid place, with some awful neighbors, one who chased us with a pipe, really wanting to kill us. Beautiful.

We then moved to La Puente, primarily a Latino community. I loved it there. I made so many great friends there, the school was great, and I had my first girlfriend there. Karen Miller. It didn't last long, but who cared?

Then we moved to Diamond Bar, California. This community sported some great new homes in a brand new development. We all loved it there. We went to a church where I met my future first wife and her wonderful family, who I'm still very close to this very day.

We lived there for a few years, just long enough to make some great, life long friends, including the Sebenius family, Kathy, Frank, Jaime, Ileen and their parents, John and Zel. I had no idea at that time, how large a part this family would play in my life.

Next, it was off to Eureka, California, where we left off yesterday. I swear, it was like the cops were after my father. I am out of ink at this moment, so we'll have to pick my own escapades tomorrow.

See you tomorrow.
