The happiest man on earth today has to be the son of the $590,000,000 lottery winner. The least happy? The nice lady who let her go ahead of her in line.
First of all, kudos to the new millionaire for sharing the winnings with her son. I'm assuming he's an only child, otherwise his life is in immediate danger.
Interestingly enough, no one is taking about the real winner, the IRS. Let's see, she wins $590 million, but takes home less than $300 million? That will pay for a lot of conventions. I know the IRS doesn't get all of that money, but certainly enough to have a lot of fun.
Maybe this time they can film a spoof on the Congressional hearings. Now, that would be funny. We have crooks watching crooks. Offsetting penalties, repeat the down.
I think every single government agency should be audited every year. I have worked for the government. I saw so much fraud, waste and abuse, it was just stupid. I watched one man, making more than $80,000 of our money, listening to his ipod all day, and doing no work. I wish I were joking.
I saw others playing solitaire on their computers all day, while they talked of retirement because - get this - their work load was too great. While this was going on, I was told to get my bachelor's degree. When I mentioned that I couldn't afford it, the Chief said "Don't worry about it, we're paying for it, anyway." So, $8,000 in student loans later, the same chief told me there was no money to reimburse me. Wait. There was and now there isn't? Where did that money go?
That should be investigated. People went on trips, where all they could talk about, upon their return, was getting drunk and having a great time. I never once saw the information from the session put into practice.
Fraud, waste and abuse. It's rampant in our government and their agencies, organic or outside companies. I wouldn't say it if I hadn't seen it first hand.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to find out if there are age limitations on adoption in Florida.
