Farmers Markets

It's almost time for farmers Markets! I love them! I spend all day long picking out the fruits and vegetables I'm going to throw away next week.

I know many people who have and use their own gardens. That's awesome, and I doubt if they waste anything. My family grew our own vegetables one year. It was great, but probably too much work for my father.

I have been to many farmers markets. Dozens of them. If I get there early, they are very peaceful. Then the yard sale people arrive in droves, looking for free stuff or bargains. That's when I leave. The tranquility is broken and once that happens, it will not return until the next week.

Those people are like gypsies. I've witnessed them work as teams to decoy and steal. I rat them out as soon as I see them. Not all gypsies are bad or do bad things. Many are and do. You have to watch them. If you've ever been to the UK or Italy, you know what I'm talking about. You get surrounded quickly and before you know it, your wallet has made it's final bid you adieu.

I don't carry a wallet. I started using one of those money clips that also hold your driver's license and credit cards and carrying it in my front pocket. It's a great little gadget because it also protects the bar codes, so when you get ripped off, at least you can have the peace in knowing that the cards will work properly for the thief.

Fortunately, no one has stolen my identity, that I'm aware of. If they did, they would quickly learn that they OWE money, rather than getting some. Fools. All of my money is tied up in off shore accounts, which simply means it's a piggy bank at the  bottom of my neighbor's pool.

I digress. When the farmers markets begin, go early and when it starts to get busy, hold on to your wallet and get out of there!

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to peruse the newspaper to see when the markets start.

See you tomorrow.
