Health Foods

I had a job in a grape juice factory once, but I got canned. I just couldn't concentrate.

Let's face it. Most of us are not interested in health foods. We like things that taste good. As a result, we are overweight. There is no denying it. Everywhere we turn, there are tasty treats to tempt us. Hot dogs, hamburgers, tacos, burritos, pizza, sandwiches and more.

You can get them at the gas station, grocery deli, convenient fast food locations where you can get your junk food fix without even leaving your car. How much easier could it be?

More and more delivery joints are popping up, tempting us further because of our busy schedules and long commutes. I'm the same way. I know! I should know better. We all should know better. We know the consequences of being overweight. We've been told often enough.

If there is anyone overweight out there that claims to be unaware that being overweight is not a health risk is lying. We all know the risks. It always cracks me up on "The Biggest Loser" when the doctor sits each person down to let them know what their health risks are. The contestants act stunned that being obese can cause diabetes, heart issues and sleep apnea. Come on. I guess it makes for good television, but that part seems staged.

We know we're not supposed to eat donuts for breakfast, but someone brought them into the office and, well, everyone was eating them. One won't hurt, right? Someone brought bagels, with cream cheese. For some unknown reason, we think bagels are healthy. I don't know why, we just think that.

Recently, I traveled to two of my childrens' homes. Both young families eat very healthy! Both of them. They work, have children; their lives are crazy, too. Somehow, they manage to get it done. Everything from scratch. And it's good!

They get new recipes from like-minded people, so it doesn't get monotonous. My daughter makes the most delicious, healthy, blueberry muffins! Incredible! My son's family makes a killer healthy pizza! I was sceptical, but changed my mind by the timeI left

It can be done. That's what irks me
I've witnessed it, I've tasted it.I know it's so much better for me and my health, yet i'm not doing it.i'm still stuck in my old habits. Ugh.

Now, if you'll excuse me, there's a chocolate peanut bar that isn't going to eat itself.

See you tomorrow.
