Old Friends

McDonalds employees are now asking Facebook investors, Can you afford fries with that?

My book is ready to purchase! There was a snafu with Amazon.com, so it won't be ready there for another 5-7 days. It is, however, ready to purchase TODAY at: http://goo.gl/4rtTOh

Now, on with the topic. Connecting with old friends is a wonderful thing, most of the time. There are always those who attempt to track you down via Facebook or some other form of social media, that you'd rather not connect with, so you ignore them and they go away.

I did have one old acquaintance create a new page, under an assumed name. Once I accepted her friend request, she told me who she was. I immediately unfriended her, without even replying. Trust me, there were good reasons to do so.

I think there should be a social media cyber jail for people who do things like that. 5 years of no computing at all, then maybe probation for a year where all they can do is go to the Obamacare Website.

Now there are scammers who friend you, then begin instant messaging you, asking for money. It takes me all of 30 seconds to block that person.

Connecting or reconnecting with old familiar friends that you want to connect with is decidedly different. It's fun and even emotional at times. I'm blessed to have so many people who fit that bill. I love to read their posts and keep up with them when possible.

I know who's happy or sad; who's going through a tough time, who to pray for, who to congratulate. A little more than a year ago, I was reconnected with a good friend I hadn't seen in years. Through that connection, I was able to reconnect with another good friend. That made me very happy.

So, I guess most connections are great, some ok while others make you want to disappear. I hope I'm not in that category, but I can't fool myself. I'm sure I'm one of those people who is an unwanted friend to someone. I'm ok with that. I know that not everyone is going to like me.

All in all, I really love my Facebook friends and those that converse with on the phone or via email.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to friend Taylor Swift. I'm sure she'll want me as her friend.

I'll see you tomorrow.
