Celebrity Crime

So, Kobe Bryant is suing his mom for some of his memorabilia without his consent. Suddenly, getting consent is very important to Kobe. Ironic.

At least he didn't gather a group of idiotic thugs to storm the house and try to take the items by force. O.J. Simpson was convicted of that crime, and is now seeking a new trial, claiming that his attorney gave him poor advice and withheld a possible plea deal.

Anyone convicted would most likely blame much of the failure on their attorney. That seems normal. But a plea deal? Wouldn't that be a victory of sorts for the defense attorney? Why would he withhold that information from his client? He wouldn't, in my opinion. It makes no sense.

Back to Kobe, a civil suit was filed against the Kobe by the alleged victim in the rape case, and Kobe settled out of court, apologizing to the young lady and her family, carefully avoiding a confession although he did mention that the young lady did not feel it was concentual.

I hope O.J. does not receive a new trial, unless he is convicted again. One of the men selling the memorabilia doesn't want to testify against the juice because O.J. has been a boyhood idol. I know! Absurd.

Simpson wrote a book, ostensibly to ultimately deny his involvement in the murders, but perceived by most as a way to exploit the murders into a way to make a lot of cash. Interviews were planned to promote the book, but one by one, the television stations began cancelling the programs. So much so, that the publication of the book was canceled.

Later, Fred Goldman, father of victim Ron Goldman, got the book published with the title, "Confessions of a Killer".

Whatever your opinion, celebrated people from all walks of life must face a jury of their peers, and pay the price of criminal acts committed.

See you tomorrow.
