Mysterious

There is nothing worse than fading into anonymous obscurity. – Unknown

Remember that friend that used to.... Who was that again? I'm not sure if it's our memories, or if the person just fades away.

What happens to the beloved high school athlete? Drama star? Political figure, teacher, bully? Hopefully, they're still around, and it shouldn't be that hard to get in touch with them with Facebook, Twitter, Google+, etc.

If we have trouble finding them, and the worst hasn't happened, perhaps they just want solace. Obscurity. Anonymity. I have a brother like that. He's very weird. He hates Facebook or any social media. He doesn't want anyone in his past to contact him.

I'm more of a social creature, than he, but maybe for good reason. Maybe there are things for which he doesn't want to remember or be remembered for. Who knows? It's not for me to judge.

I had a best friend in 6th grade. I couldn't find him. Finally, I found his sister, who gave me his number. I left a message, but never heard back from him. He wants to be left alone and that's ok. He's not ready for some reason that he alone is aware of.

So, instead, I focus on the friends and acquaintances that want to communicate. I know many who don't like the ease of being found in today's media, and that really is ok.

I have, or should say had, a really close friend who simply disappeared not long ago. It made me sad, but there's evidence he's alive, so I'm sure he'll surface when he's ready. In the meantime, I'll communicate with all of you, who will have me as your  friend.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to take a nap.

See you tomorrow.
